Set of 12 mane bags to protect your horses braided mane and matching tail bag. 

We use a specific fabric that we’ve narrowed down over the last ten plus years of experience, which is a lycra/spandex or blends.

We found that this type of material is forgiving, yet durable for the typical environment horses are in. It also doesn’t attract dirt or shavings as well as dries rather quickly when they get wet.

Tie strings are  incorporated at the top to fully enclose the bag to prevent any dirt or debris getting into the bags.

UV durable thread is used in construction of all mane and tail bags to accommodate the outside elements.

Best way to know how many you will need is by braiding your horses mane and count how many braids you end up with.

Tips on braiding their mane;

• Best to braid while their head is lowered or down, this is when their neck it stretched at its longest and will prevent the base of the braid from being too tight and become irritating casein them to want to scratch or rub.
• Braids should not be any wider than 1.5/2” in width at the base of the neck, this also prevent pulling and irritation at the skin.
• Always secure the end of the braid with electrical tape, NEVER rubber bands or hair ties as these break the ends of the hair.
• Braids and bags should be re-done every 1-2 weeks or as necessary.

This gorgeous matching single tube tail bag is a great way to protect your horses tail and look great in doing so!

This tail bag is average horse size at roughly 29” in total length, 24” tube length with a 5” tassel for swatting bugs. This size usually fits most horses between 14.3hh - 15.3hh.

Please measure prior to purchase if you’re unsure, we don’t take returns or exchanges on tail bags.

To measure your horses tail, measure from the end of the tail bone down to the end of the tail or to the top of the fetlock if the tail is longer or touches the ground. We don’t recommend the tail bag to drag the ground for safety purposes.

To use; Braid your horses tail and secure the braid with electrical tape and the drop the braid in the bag and secure the tie strings through the top of the braid and tie. Do not tie in a bow, a double knot will do just fine.
